WE'RE NOT MAKING THIS UP

In a match made in tabloid heaven, the king of pop and the daughter of the king of rock confirmed Monday they were secretly married 11 weeks ago.

Michael Jackson, 35, and Lisa Marie Presley, 26, announced their union in a statement issued by Jackson's MJJ Productions.

``My married name is Mrs. Lisa Marie Presley-Jackson. My marriage to Michael Jackson took place in a private ceremony outside the United States weeks ago,'' Elvis' daughter said in the statement.

``I am very much in love with Michael, I dedicate my life to being his wife. I understand and support him, we both look forward to raising a family and living a happy, healthy life together.''

Rumors of the marriage were first reported July 10, after a judge in the Dominican Republic told the newspaper Listin Diario that he had married the two in a 15-minute ceremony on May 26.

The celebrities' publicists denied the report, but a Dominican immigration official said Jackson was in that country on May 26, and Donald Trump was rumored to have lent the newlyweds a New York ``love nest'' in his Trump Tower.

On Monday, the statement from MJJ Productions Vice President Bob Jones was released to The Associated Press.

Jones said no additional details would be released.

Presley and musician Danny Keough announced in April they were ending their six-year marriage and would seek joint custody of their children, Danielle, 5, and Benjamin, 1. It wasn't clear Monday if the divorce was final.
