ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICTATORS
The number of homes sold in the Roanoke Valley fell 38.2 percent to 249 in
July from 403 a year ago and 29.6 percent from 354 in June. Tim Garrison,
president of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors, said July sales were
affected by fluctuations in interest rates. "Now that rates have stabilized,"
he said, "I think we'll see an increase in activity."
