SALEM PRO FINISHES 3RD

Chip Sullivan, the teaching pro at Hanging Rock golf club in Salem, finished third Tuesday in the Middle Atlantic PGA Assistants Championship at Ford's Colony in Williamsburg.

Sullivan shot 69-72 on the par-72 layout to finish four strokes behind winner Rob McNamara of Charlottesville, who shot rounds of 69-68.

Other players from the area and their scores were: Jeff Sprinkle of Blue Hills, 83-83; Dave Kuykendall of Hanging Rock, 78-78; Mark Fry of Roanoke Country Club, 75-73; and Mark Croye of Hidden Valley Country Club, 87-81.
