Habitat for Humanity broke ground for the project in June. The house-raising is a joint effort of Habitat and Cluster 11 of the Presbytery of the Peaks, which includes: Belspring, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Dublin, Fairlawn, Narrows, New Dublin, Northside, Old Brick, Pearisburg, Pulaski, Radford, Roanoke Valley and Walker's Creek Presbyterian churches.
Additional volunteers are welcome, especially those with construction or building experience. So are financial contributions. Contact one of the Presbyterian churches to help.
"Famous Kids of the Bible" is the theme of the fourth annual MUSIC CAMP '94 Monday through Friday at Pulaski's First United Methodist Church, 135 Fourth St. Children and youth select to study various aspects of music and drama, sign language or video and sound production during the week. Barbara Shomo directs the camp, which has about 50 enrollees this season. This year, more adults and youth are participating, she said "This is sort of an inter-generational program."
The public gets to sample the fruits of their efforts when the campers present "Famous Kids of the Bible" Sunday, Aug. 14, at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist church. They perform Aug. 21 at Dublin United Methodist Church, and Sept. 11 at Randolph Avenue United Methodist Church.
The campers also present selections Aug. 14 during First United Methodist's 9 a.m. worship service, and Aug. 21 at Pages Meetinghouse.

Cornerstone Fellowship (formerly St. John's Fellowship) in Christiansburg, tonight at 7:30 and Sunday at 11 a.m., with dinner to follow on the grounds, and at 6 p.m. Take Exit 114 from I-81 and head south on Riner Road (Virginia 8).
