BAYNE, William Henry, 74, of Mechanicsville, died Sunday, August 7, 1994. He was a retired employee of E. I. duPont. He is survived by his wife Maxine Bayne; son, William Henry Bayne, Jr. of Aylett; daughter, Beverly McElroy of Richmond; sister, Josephine Gibson of Buchanon; two grandsons, Walter D. and Scott H. Bayne, both of Manassas; granddaughter, Morgen G. McElroy of Richmond. His remains rest at the Woody Funeral Home Laburnum Chapel, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., Richmond. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 9 at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. The family request that contributions be made to the East Hanover Vol. Rescue Squad or the Meadowridge Hospice Program.
BURNETTE, Lois Cannaday, 71, of Cloverdale, died Saturday, August 6, 1994. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Alice Ash Cannaday and her husband, Barney A. Burnette. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Doug and Karen Burnette, Alvin E. Burnette, all of Cloverdale, two daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Andy Kurtinitis, Annapolis, Md., Teresa and Richard Spencer, Roanoke; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Nannie J. Burnette Forrest; also several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 1994 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. H. Fleet Powell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Glade Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Troutville Rescue Squad or to the America n Heart Association. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.

CHATTIN, Gladys Mills, 72, of Ridgeway, died Sunday, August 7, 1994 in Martinsville Memorial Hospital. She was born February 13, 1922 in Linden, Va. to the late James William Mills and Evelyn Williamson Mills. She was retired from Dupont after 35 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Cassell Chattin. Survivors are a daughter; Mrs. Donald (Teresa C.) Jackson of Ridgeway; two sons, Ronald C. Chattin of Hollins College and William R. Chattin of Moneta; a sister, Charlotte Robertson of Atwater, Calif.; nine grandchildren; one step grandchild; two great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Grace Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 1994 with the Rev. Richard Harrison, Rev. Tim Kirby and Rev. Billy Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Ceme tery, Ridgeway. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home, Ridgeway and other times at the home of her daughter, Teresa Jackson, State Rt. 639, Ridgeway.

WHITE, Jesse A., 65, of Marion, died Sunday, August 7, 1994 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. White was a member of the Stone Memorial Presbyterian Church, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a very active member of the Smyth County Board of Supervisors. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cornelia White of Marion; two sons, Timothy D. White and Jeffrey A. White, both of Salem; one sister, Pegg y Conner of Marion; two brothers, William T. White and Robert L. White, both of Marion; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. William Winters and Dr. Loren Dow officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 at Seaver-Brown Chapel. WILLIAMSON, Nona Kessler, of South Roanoke Nursing Home, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 1994. She was born in Roanoke on June 9, 1906 the beloved daughter of Leafy Campbell Kessler and Otis E. Kessler and was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard Lee Williamson (Willie). She formerly resided in Bedford and was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nettie McNeil of Roanoke and Mrs. Avis Hepinstall of Vinton; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Smith of Blacksburg and Alma ""Toots"" Janney of Roanoke; brothers-in-law, Arthur Williamson of Roanoke and Glenn Williamson of Longwood, Fla. She was a loving and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Updike Funeral Home on Monday, August 8. Funeral services will be conducted at the Updike Funeral Home in Bedford on Tuesday, August 9, 1994 at 4 p.m. by Dr. Bill Ross. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemeter y in Bedford.
