A draft pastoral letter from the nation's Episcopal bishops does not specifically endorse the blessing of homosexual unions, as reported in a Saturday religion brief. The letter, which will not be subject to final action until the denomination's General Convention later this month, says only that "there are those who believe" homosexuals in "chaste, faithful and committed lifelong unions ... should receive the pastoral care of the church."

A photo caption Sunday incorrectly listed the companions of a mixed doberman that was in a Blacksburg wedding party. The dog, Kemah, was accompanied by a bridesmaid and an usher.
