Union workers at the J.M. Clipper Polymers Corp. plant in Iron Gate voted Saturday to end their weeklong strike against a new three-year contract proposed by the company.
Workers at the plant, formerly called Acadia Polymers, walked out at midnight July 30 in a dispute over contract language regarding work rules at the plant.
Bill Eacho of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said he remained in touch with the company after the start of the strike, and a breakthrough occurred late last week.
Workers voted by a 2-1 margin to end the strike. They returned to work at 11 p.m. Sunday.
The company agreed to make changes in the contract language that satisfied the workers' demands, Eacho said.
