He also will talk about the Lem Tuggle case. Tuggle, convicted in the deaths of two Smyth County women and sentenced to death in the second case, has been successful in an appeal aimed at a new trial.
This will be the first of four regional meetings planned by Gilmore this month; the others are Aug. 23 in Harrisonburg; Aug. 25, Virginia Beach; and Aug. 30, Fairfax.
Don Harrison, a spokesman in Gilmore's office, said Gilmore wants to hear from the public on crime-related issues before the start of the special General Assembly session in September.
