DONNA K. THORNTON, chief executive officer of Child Care Consultant Services in Christiansburg, has been named the executive director of the National Association of Child Care Professionals.

She will oversee the association's operations, newsletter and membership and organize the national conference in May.

JAMES T. BUSH of Bush Custom Homes in Christiansburg was the state winner of the 1993 Propane Gallery of Architectural Design Competition.

The award honors builders, architects and architecture students who design environmentally sensitive propane gas homes.

DR. JOSEPH LLINAS has joined the medical staff at Virginia Highland Health Associates and Saint Albans Psychiatric Hospital.

Llinas comes to the New River Valley from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, where he completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.

TINA PARLETT has been appointed director of marketing at the Richmond office of Draper Aden Associates.

Parlett will manage the firm's marketing and public relations activities in Blacksburg, Richmond and Nashville.

DR. SCOTT KINCAID of the Family Practice Clinic in Radford has received certification in sports medicine from the American Board of Family Practice.
