BURNETT, Freda Juanita, 79, of Rt. 1, Galax, died Friday, August 12, 1994 at Duke Medical Center. Survivors include her husband, Raymond N. Burnett, Galax; three daughters, June B. Howard, Maitland, Fla., Margaret B. Cheek, Galax, and Susan B.Sexton, Hillsville; two sons, Mac N. (Pinky) Burnett, Galax, and Richard C. (Dickie) Burnett, Davenport, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burnett was preceded in death by a son, Claude (Dub) Burnett. Funeral services are Monday, August 15, 1994 at 2 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. CALDWELL, Ray Hampton, 72, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, August 13, 1994 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Caldwell was born in Montgomery County on February 15, 1922. He was retired from R.A.A.P. with 34 years service and had been a member of the Montgomery County Moose Lodge #1470 for 22 years. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Reba Sexton Caldwell; a daughter, Linda Lee Caldwell, Roanoke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Stanger, Christiansburg, Edna and Don Taylor, Poqusen; one brother, Ralph Caldwell, Greensboro, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 1994, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Bobby E. Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
COFER, Harriett Beverly,of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Roanoke, died Saturday, August 13, 1994, at the Lubbock Hospitality House. She was born October 3, 1902, in Wise, Virginia and moved to Lubbock from Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1992. He husband, Harry Read Cofer, preceded her in death in 1943. Mrs. Cofer was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, Roanoke, Virginia. She was a graduated from Radford State Teachers College, Radford, Virginia and taught school in Virginia. Throughout her life she served in many leadership roles in her church. Mrs. Cofer was a member of the Women's Club and several National Music Organizations for more than 40 years. Survivors include a daughter, Bette Garst; a granddaughter, Karen Talley and great-grandson, Cameron Talley all of Lubbock. Memorial services for Harriett Beverly Cofer will be Tuesday, August 16, 1994, 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Lubbock, Texas with the Reverends Bill Fleming and Charles Lutrick officiating. The body was donated to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service. Memorials to the Tower Bell Fund of First United Methodist Church or The West Texas Parkinsonism Society are suggested.

CROMER, Reva Pratt, 80, of Richmond, formerly a resident of Blacksburg for over fifty years, widow of Howard E. Cromer, died Saturday, August 13, 1994. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda C. and David Robinson, Roswell, Ga., Bonnie C. and Fleetwood Howell, Farnham, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall D. (Randy) and Dawna F. Cromer; two grandchildren, Sarah B. and D. Randall (Randy) Cromer, all of Aylett, Va.; three sisters, Stella P. Cochran, Miss Zella A. Pratt, both of Roanoke, and Carla P. Lawrence, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Pratt, Payson, Ariz., and Vance Pratt, Albuquerque, N. M. Mrs. Cromer was retired from Virginia Tech College. Remains rest in the Laburnum Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 2110 E. DUNN, Grace, 97, of Red Sulphur Springs, W.Va., died Thursday, August 11, 1994, in a Pearisburg, Va. hospital following a long illness. Born March 23, 1897, in Neponset, W.Va., which is currently known as Bozoo, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Rena Vaughan Martin. Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and a member of the Red Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Dunn; two sons, Robert Lewis and Carl D. Dunn; three sisters and one brother . Survivors include three sons, Harry R. Dunn Jr., Nashville, Tenn., Walter ``Jack"" Dunn, Princeton, W.Va., James H. ``Sonny"" Dunn, Roanoke; five daughters, Frances Bales, Peterstown, W.Va., Jean Bales, Pearisburg, Va., Joan White, Red Jacket, W.Va., Kellan ``Trixie"" Martin, Red Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Louise Davis, Nashville, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, August 15, 1994, at the Broyles Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, W.Va., with Rev. Tommy Mounts and Rev. Eddie Howdock officiating. FAIN, Thomas Edward, 82, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, August 11, 1994, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Fain was born in Giles County, Virginia on August 18, 1911, a son of the late James Fain and Ida Weiss Fain. He was employed as a coal miner for 25 years, worked with R.A.A.P. for 7 years, and retired from V.P.I. with 17 years service. He was a member of the Bridle Creek United Methodist Church. Mr. Fain was preceded in death by a son, Cecil Edison Fain. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ocie Caldwell Fain; a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. James and Toni Fain, Independence, Va; three grandsons, Harold Dean Fain, Carl Dale Fain, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Jonathan Jim Fain, Independence, Va; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Carter Fain, Callahan, Florida; a good friend, Bobby Linkous; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Robert Hall; four sisters, Lillie, Nancy, Mallie and Bessie; four brothers, Peyton, William, Letcher and Rice Richardson. Surviving are a brother, Fred G.
