Frank C. Wilson, president and CEO of North Carolina Motor Speedway in Rockingham, died Saturday night at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C.

Wilson, who made his home in Hamlet, N.C., was hospitalized Aug. 12 after suffering a stroke in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was 61.

Wilson, born in Burnsville, N.C., had worked at the Rockingham speedway since its inaugural event in 1965. He was named president and CEO in 1990.
