DROWNING VICTIM'S BODY IS FOUND

The body of an 18-year-old Bedford County man was found early Sunday in the James River, more than 12 hours after friends reported him drowned.

According to the Amherst County Police Department, Henry Clay Grubb of Goode jumped off the Scotts Mill Dam near Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon.

He apparently became trapped in the circular undertow at the bottom of the dam and drowned.

The Monelison Rescue and Lynchburg Lifesaving crews found Grubb's body at 3:30 Sunday morning.
