TECH LIBRARY HAS COMPUTER BULLETIN BOARD

Virginia Tech's Newman Library now has access to the Federal Bulletin Board, a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office that lets users get government information in electronic form. Available information includes everything from NAFTA to health-care reform.

Library patrons can access and download information on the bulletin board free of charge. The service is available in the second-floor reference room.

Users also can access the service from home via personal computer, modem and telecommunications software. While home users can browse the board for free, they must pay to download information. The typical fee to download a file is $7. Users can pay with a credit card or can open a Government Printing Office deposit account.
