IF YOU LOSE YOUR HAIR HERE, THE WINNER IS CANCER RESEARCH

The Radford-Montgomery Unit of the American Cancer Society is planning its first "Cut for Cancer" on Aug. 28, noon to 6 p.m., in the parking lot in front of Lynn and Company Hair Design, Hethwood Square Shopping Center.

Hair stylists from many Blacksburg salons, including The Barber Shop, Creations, Elite Style Salon, Guys and Dolls, and Lynn and Company Hair Salon, will volunteer their time and skills..

No appointment is necessary. The minimum donation is $8.

The stylists will draw the winning raffle ticket for a weekend-for-two package at the Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City near Washington, D.C. Tickets are available at all participating salons.

The event also will include face painting, blood-pressure screening, massage therapy, appearances by local celebrities, and live broadcasts by WBNK (100.7 FM).

All proceeds will benefit cancer research, education and patient services in the New River Valley.
