HIKE WITH THE 'Y'

The YMCA sponsors a number of hikes through the fall in the New River Valley. Hikers meet in the YMCA parking lot at 403 Washington St. Hikes leave Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. Usually, hikers will return to the YMCA by 5 p.m.

The Y asks participants to bring water, a jacket, sturdy shoes, and snacks for long hikes. Hikers carpool to the sites; bring gas money if you're not driving. Hikes are subject to change because of weather conditions.

Following are the hikes scheduled through September. For more information, call the YMCA office at 231-6860.
