NRCC'S WILKINSON WINS NATIONAL AWARD

Thomas W. Wilkinson, director of learning resources and instructional technology, has received a national award from the United States Distance Learning Association.

Under Wilkinson's direction, New River Community College's distance learning program grew from one course with 30 students to 24 courses with 1,000 students.

As a member of the executive committee for the Virginia Community College System's Distance Education Network, Wilkinson helped to develop policy and a strategic plan to integrate distance education.
