The National D-Day Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a National D-Day Memorial Monument in the Roanoke Valley, has elected officers for 1994-95.
They are: Bob Slaughter, chairman; Elizabeth Bowles, vice chairman; Catherine Benson, secretary; Stuart Barbour, treasurer.

Roanoker picked to lead K of C district
William T. "Billy" DeBerry recently was appointed district deputy of the Virginia State Council for the Knights of Columbus.
DeBerry will serve as an adviser, guide, monitor and friend to councils in Roanoke, Forest, Danville, Martinsville, Bedford and Salem.
He has been a member of Roanoke Council 562 for seven years. He was chosen Knight of the Year in 1990, and WSLS African-American Role Model in 1994.
DeBerry and his wife, Ernestine, have one daughter. He is employed by Orkin Pest Control as an inspector, and is on the board of directors of Our Lady of the Valley Retirement Home and the Parish Council of St. Gerard's Catholic Church.
