BESSETTE, John, 44, of Roanoke, died Friday, August 26, 1994. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel.

BOHARA, Chester, (``Chuck""), 64, of Dugspur, passed away Thursday, August 25, 1994. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, Vayghan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.

BRITT, Clyde Lee, 65, of Henry County, died Friday, August 26, 1994 at Martinsville-Henry County Memorial Hospital from complications of bone marrow cancer. He served as a healthcare administrator for 20 years in the United States Air Force and for 22 years as an employee, successively, of Hospital Corporation of America, HCA Management Company, and Quorum Health Resources, Inc. He retired in September 1993 as Executive Director of Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County, Martinsville, Va., after a tenure of 19 years and 4 months. He was a Lifetime Certified Healthcare Executive by the American College of Healthcare Executives. He and his wife, Johanna Chappell Britt, lived on a farm off State Road 1078, Route 2, Horsepasture, Henry County, Va. Britt was born at Hehue, Logan County, W. VA. on December 18, 1928, the son of Robert Lee Britt, a mining accountant, and of Virginia Spratt Britt. Britt's outside interests in later life included farming and flying. He was a member of the Henry County Farm Bureau and the Southern States Martinsville Cooperative. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Douglas Kenneth Britt, Boonsboro, Md., Suzanne Marie Britt, Nashville, Tenn., and Lawrence Randall Britt, Blacksburg; his father, Ro bert Lee Britt, was successively a bank teller, hospital business office manager, hospital administrator, and medical arts center administrator, in Lumberton, N.C., he also was a farm manager; and he is survived by his mother, Virginia Spratt Britt, Fayetteville, N.C.; three brothers, Robert Carl Britt, M.D., an internal Medicine specialist in Durham, N.C., Ramon Paul Britt, Hyattesville, Md., and Preston Holmes Britt, Lumberton, N.C. The famil will receive friends at McKee Funeral Services from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m,. Sunday, August 28, 1994, at the Broad Street Christians CHurch, Disciples of Christ, with Dr. James Dickerson to officiate. Britt and his wife were members of the church. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery after an abbreviated service at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 1994. BURBRIDGE, Cecil Raymond, 93, of Hillsville, passed away Friday, August 26, 1994. Graveside service and burial 1 p.m. Monday, National Memorial Park Cemetery, Falls Church. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady, Hillsville.

CASH, Leonard Ronald, 81, of Natural Bridge Station, died Friday, August 26, 1994 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Cash was born in Rockbridge Co., on August 27, 1912, a son of the late Rollie Franklin and Mary Watkins Cash. He was a member of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church in Natural Bridge and was a retired businessman, and a charter member of the Natural Bridge Ruritan Club. Surviving are his wife, Beulah T. Cash, Natural Bridge Station; a daughter, Iris Cash Davis, Natural Bridge Station; two sisters, Alma Cash Barney, Colonial Heights, Frances Cash Driscoll, Buena Vista; one grandson and wife, Michael W. and Andrea G. Davis, Hinton; one granddaughter and husband, Lis a D. and Sonny G. Lasam, McGaheysville; one great-grandson, Christopher M. Lasam, McGaheysville. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 29, 1994 at 11 a.m. in the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn M. Coleman officiating. Burial to follow in the High Bridge Presbyterian Cemetery, Natural Bridge. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Glasgow First Aid Crew of the High Bridge Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.

CLARK, Vivian Gregory, of Martinsville, died Thursday, August 25, 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Clark and infant son, James Roy Clark. Surviving is her daughter, Peggy James ""Jo"" Clark of Snowville and Martinsville. Mrs. Clark resided at Fairlawn Manor in Radford for the past year. The family will receive friends at McKee Funeral Home, Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and at 913 Myrtle Road, Martinsville at other times. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 28, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

GUNTER, Evelyn Ayers, 76, of Salem, died Thursday, August 25, 1994. She is preceded in death by her husband, Noah Gunter; son, Charles Curtis Gunter; daughters, Cindy Gunter, and Janice Crawford; brother, Hubert Ayers. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Charlie Gunter, Chance Crawford, Scott Crawford, Chris Crawford, Mark Mills, Amber Mills, Gail Owens; two great-grandchildren, Kiel Gunter, Jacob Owens. MILLS, Arthur Andrew, 68, of Fancy Gap, passed away Friday, August 26, 1994 at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax. Survivors include his wife, Faye Marshall Mills; two daughters, Ms. Marcia Mills and Ramona Tuttle, both of Randleman, N.C.; one stepson, Marshall Vass of Fancy Gap; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughters. SHAW, Louise Bond, 83, of Radford, died Thursday, August 25, 1994, at Carriage Hill Retirement Center in Bedford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Max Shaw. She was born in Radford and was a graduate of Radford State Teachers College, presently Radford University. She was a retired school teacher from Radford City School System, and a 32 year resident of North Augusta, S.C. She is survived by a nephew, Melvin B. Johnson of Roanoke; a niece, Muriel J. Crowder of St. Albans, W.Va. A Graveside service will be held Sunday, August 28, 1994 at 2 p.m. from Central Cemetery in Radford with the Rev. Clarence Dishman officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 until 7 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford.

WHEELER, Nora McGhee, 85, a resident of 608 Park Ave., Henderson, N.C., died Friday, August 26, 1994, at Maria Parham Hospital. She was a native of Vance Co. and was the daughter of the late Will and Molly Woodlief McGhee. She was the widow of James H. Wheeler, Sr. and was a member of the White Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Florence W. Wortham and Mrs. Farrel W. Oakes both of Henderson, Mrs. Jeanne W. Ayscue of Blue Ridge, Va.; one son, James H. Wheeler, Jr. of Henderson; two sisters, Mrs. Mae M. Varker of Henderson an d Mrs. Mildred M. Knapp of Yardiville, New Jersey; one brother, Willie Russell McGhee of Lynn, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the White Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Larry Sallee. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:30 until 9 p.m. at the J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Wheeler, Jr. on Forest Hills Drive.
