MAN CHARGED IN SEX ASSAULT

A Roanoke County man was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl Thursday night, police said.

Adam D. McDaniel, 20, of the first block of Verndale Drive in Roanoke County, was arrested after the girl filed a complaint while she was being treated at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley, police said. He was charged with two felonies - oral sodomy and animate-object sexual penetration.

The girl told police she was assaulted around 8 p.m. at McDaniel's home.

McDaniel was arrested early Friday in Roanoke, police said. He was released on bond by the Roanoke County magistrate.
