Danice ``Niecy'' Hunt, 61, will represent Virginia at the Ms. National Senior Citizen Pageant in Joliet, Ill., in October. Hunt received a $300 check, diamond earrings and an all-expense paid trip to the national pageant.
Hunt, who also won the talent show, sang and played a gospel solo and accompanied herself on the piano.
Nina Rowland, 70, of Great Falls was named first runner-up and received $200. Salem resident Elaine "Lee" Tompkins, 86, was chosen second runner-up and received $100. Both women also were given an Elizabeth Taylor jewelry set.
Virginia Ann Freeman of Fredricksburg was chosen by the other contestants as Ms. Congeniality, for her "warm kindness and willingness to help others," organizer Dotty Talbott said.
The judging began Thursday with personal interviews, continued Friday with the talent show and ended Saturday with the day wear and evening dress competitions.
