LABOR DAY PARTY MARKS UNION'S 506H

The United Paperworkers International Union Local 675 in Covington will sponsor its annual Labor Day Celebration, starting at 1 p.m. Monday, at the armory at Dabney lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge.

The local will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year and the ceremonies will recognize that milestone.

Country singer Mel McDaniel will perform at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Other musicians are scheduled to perform through the afternoon.

Prior to the festivities in Clifton Forge, a Labor Day parade will be held at Covington at 11 a.m.

Admission to the celebration is free.
