ROANOKE VALLEY ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Passenger boardings at Roanoke Regional Airport are running 15.8 percent ahead of last year. The airport commission said 210,674 travelers boarded planes through the end of July, compared with 181,931 in the 1993 period.

The report also said 34,056 people flew out of Roanoke in July, an increase of 21.4 percent from 28,050 in the same month last year but down 2.98 percent from 35,101 passengers in June.

Air cargo is up 19.1 percent for the first seven months.
