Mrs. Richards was a retired insurance agent, and a life time member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served as a member of the board and was treasurer for many years. Surviving are her husband, Carroll T. Richards Jr., of the home; one son, Carroll T. Richards III; one daughter, Mary Lucinda Richards, both of Rocky Mount; one brother, Donald E. TANKESLEY, Michael Allen, 23, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 1994. Michael went to be an angel in heaven at 6:30 a.m. after a peaceful death at home. He was a very special child who touched the lives of many people. He was a 1992 graduate of RCOS and a special student to his teachers Tara Calvert and Guida Lefler. He was a special companion to his friend Ellen Richardson. He was the beloved son of Robert A. and Kathleen Rye Tankesley of Roanoke; the beloved brother of Bobbie Ann Cochrane, Lisa G. and Randy Campbell, all of Roanoke; the precious grandson of Beverly Eisenberger of Penn., Louise Richardson of Md., and Della Rye of Roanoke. The beloved uncle of Lewis, Chad, and Ryan Cochrane, Robert Campbell and Rachael Campbell. Also, surviving are six uncles, four aunts, several cousins, all who adored him. WILLIS, Hilda Gregory, 88, of Route 3, Martinsville, died Monday, August 29, 1994 at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville-Henry Co. She was born in Figsboro Community of Henry Co., Va. on March 21, 1906. She was a daughter of the late James W. Gregory and the late Palmira Anglin Gregory. Mrs. Willis was retired from Globman's Department Store, in Alterations. Mrs. Willis was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where she was a member of the CWF and was a past Sunday School teacher and choir member there. Surviving are her husband, William H. Willis, of the home; sons, Dennis H. Willis, Martinsville, and Vernon D. Willis, Roanoke; brother, Joseph Whitten Gregory, Salem; two grandchildren, Jerry W. Willis, Salem, and Linda W. Harrison, Radford; fo ur great-grandchildren, Chad Willis, Trevor Willis, Jon Harrison and Jessica Harrison; several nieces and nephews. YEAROUT, Nellie Smith, 78, of Salem, died Tuesday, August 30, 1994. She was born in Radford, and had formerly lived in Pulaski but had resided in Salem for the last 35 years. She was a housewife and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Yearout. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter F. Jr. and Susie Yearout, Salem, Michael D. and Jeanette Yearout, Snellville, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith A. and Bill Childress, Chesterfield, Va., Donna Y. and Steve Witt, Salem; five grandchildren, and five stepgrandchildren.
