Surviving are four daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Carter, Vondelear Hubbard, Julia Ann Mitchell, and Karan Jones, all of Radford, Va; daughter-in-law, Jan Carter, Atlanta, Ga; son, Victor Lee Carter, Atlanta, Ga.; sons-in-law, William Hubbard, Ernest Mitchell; godson, Keith Palmer, all of Radford; brothers, Joshua Jones and Robert Jones, both of Radford, James Jones, Newport News, Va.; sister, Dorthelia Sheffey, Arlington, Va ., sisters-in-law, Virginia Jones, Newport News, Va., Betty Jones, Radford., Va. and Mae Jones, Detriot, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Rozetta Reed, Chucky Hubbard, Diana Mitchell, Crystal Hubbard, Chad Reed, Jason Mitchell, Victoria Carter. CASEY, William Harrison, 76, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 1994. Survivors include his wife, Louise B. CATACALOS, Joan Margaret, (``nee Donegan'') of New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 1994. A beloved mother of Joan Nierwinski; cherished grandmother of Raymond and Sibhan Caggiano and Alexis Nierwinski; sister of Mary Wanser, Patricia Berson, Emmet and Cornelius Donegan. HAMPTON, James Gwyn, 44, of Salem, died Monday, August 29, 1994. He was employed with the Kroger Company as a grocery clerk for 24 years. He is survived by his wife, Billie Jo Hampton; son, James Mitchell Hampton, Salem; daughter, Makenzie Joell Hampton, Salem; stepson, Barry Gordan Underwood, II, Salem; his mother, Jean Kenzie Hampton, Galax; two brothers, Franklin Hampton, Galax, Kenneth Hampton, Winston-Salem, N.C.; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William W. Roberts, Salem; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 1, 1994, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Mr. Paul Johnson officiating. Interment will be private. HARRELL, Iris H., 70, of Glade St., Galax, Va. passed away on August 30, 1994, at the Twin County Community Hospital. She was born on August 11, 1924, to William L. and Alza Nelson Holcomb. She was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Dale Harrell. Survivors include her husband, Harper S. Harrell; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Craig Patton, Fries; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nelson and Lisa Harrell, Mt. Airy, N.C., Richard and Shashi Harrell, Blacksburg, Va.; four sisters, Faye Fielder, Knoxville, Tenn., Laurene Copeland and Peggy Walker, Phoenix, Ariz., Betty Bobbitt, Galax, Va.; one brother, Philip Holcomb, Daytona Beach, Fla., one sister-in-law, Kathaleen Holcomb, Richmond, Va.; four granddaughters, Annette, Kristen, Nikole & Emma; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Rocky Dowling and Marie Snead and many others. HODGES, Anah Michelle, 3, all of Vinton, died Monday, August 29, 1994, at their home. Surviving Mr. Hodges are his father, William Gordon Hodges, Roanoke; five brothers, Ralph Hodges, Donald Hodges, both of Roanoke, David Hodges, Timothy Hodges, both of Florida, Gary Hodges, Wytheville; three sisters, Wanda Clasbey, Roanoke, Vicky Runyan, Fel icia Lawson, both of Delaware; grandmother, Edith H. Hodges, Roanoke. Mrs. Hodges is survived by her father, Dave Fulcher, Roanoke; mother, Hazel Fulcher, Roanoke; a brother, David (D. A.) MARTIN, Edna Melita Ann, 60, of Christiansburg, died Monday afternoon, August 29, 1994, in Radford Community Hospital. She is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank B. and Kitty Martin, Martinsville, Zane C. and Peggy Martin, Christiansburg; a sister, Linda Martin, Christiansburg. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday from the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. George Bulson and Rev. Jerry Sloss with burial in Sunset Cemetery. McDaniel, Staunton, Va., his mother, Wilma Huff McDaniel, Floyd, four sisters, Mergetta McDaniel, Washington, D.C., Trenda Conner, Christina, Del., Peggy Finwick, Floyd and Ruth Reese of Roanoke; two brothers, Paul H. McDaniel, Check, and Curtis R. McDaniel, Floyd; and three grandchildren. MILGRIM, Pearl Moore, 88, Widow of Parker Milgrim of Galax, died Sunday, August 28, 1994. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Evidene Milgrim, Douglas Milgrim, both of Galax, Delano and Louise Milgrim, Independence, Alyce Milgrim, Galax; three sisters, Winifred Crockett, Pulaski, Jean Wampler, Glasco, Juanita Reynolds, Wytheville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. RICHARDS, Anne Beheler, 60, of Rt. 5, Rocky Mount, died Tuesday morning, August 30, 1994, at her residence. Mrs. Richards was a retired insurance agent, and a life time member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, served as a member of the board and was treasurer for many years. Surviving are her husband, Carroll T. Richards Jr., of the home; one son, Carroll T. Richards III; one daughter, Mary Lucinda Richards, both of Rocky Mount; one brother, Donald E. Beheler, Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert Seemann and the Rev. SNIDER, Steven Andrew, 38, of Blacksburg, died Monday, August 29, 1994, at his home. Mr. Snider was the son of the late Annie Louise Wirt and Millard Eugene Snider, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Lois Snider; sister, Barbara J. Spence, Blacksburg; brother, Ronald W. Snider, Dublin; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 1, 1994, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Porter Riner officiating. SOLOMON, Reva, 68, of Roanoke, died in a Roanoke hospital, Tuesday, August 30, 1994. Surviving are her husband, Bernard Solomon, Roanoke; two daughters and son-in-law, Pamela and Robert Kinney, Los Angeles, Cali., and Barbara Werry, Reidsville, N.C.; one sister and three brothers. TANKESLEY, Michael Allen, 23, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 1994. Michael went to be an angel in heaven at 6:30 a.m. after a peaceful death at home. He was a very special child who touched the lives of many people. He was a 1992 graduate of RCOS and a special student to his teachers Tara Calvert and Guida Lefler. He was a special companion to his friend Ellen Richardson. He was the beloved son of Robert A. and Kathleen Rye Tankesley of Roanoke; the beloved brother of Bobbie Ann Cochrane, Lisa G. and Randy Campbell, all of Roanoke; the precious grandson of Beverly Eisenberger of Penn., Louise Richardson of Md., and Della Rye of Roanoke. The beloved uncle of Lewis, Chad, and Ryan Cochrane, Robert Campbell and Rachael Campbell. Also, surviving are six uncles, four aunts, several cousins, all who adored him. WEEKS, Ruby Elizabeth, 84, of Manassas, and formerly of Willis, passed away Saturday, August 27, 1994, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas. She was a retired Financial Clerk from the ASCS office in Richmond. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Mrs. Thornton (Oneta) Weeks, Manassas; one uncle, Estel Weeks, Radford; one aunt, Dora Caudle, Fairfax; two nieces; three nephews. WILLIS, Hilda Gregory, 88, of Route 3, Martinsville, died Monday, August 29, 1994 at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville-Henry Co. She was born in Figsboro Community of Henry Co., Va. on March 21, 1906. She was a daughter of the late James W. Gregory and the late Palmira Anglin Gregory. Mrs. Willis was retired from Globman's Department Store, in Alterations. Mrs. Willis was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where she was a member of the CWF and was a past Sunday School teacher and choir member there. Surviving are her husband, William H. Willis, of the home; sons, Dennis H. Willis, Martinsville, and Vernon D. Willis, Roanoke; brother, Joseph Whitten Gregory, Salem; two grandchildren, Jerry W. Willis, Salem, and Linda W. Harrison, Radford; fo ur great-grandchildren, Chad Willis, Trevor Willis, Jon Harrison and Jessica Harrison; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church with the Rev. William Whitehurst officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery. YEAROUT, Nellie Smith, 78, of Salem, died Tuesday, August 30, 1994. She was born in Radford, and had formerly lived in Pulaski but had resided in Salem for the last 35 years. She was a housewife and a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter F. Yearout. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter F. Jr. and Susie Yearout, Salem, Michael D. and Jeanette Yearout, Snellville, Ga.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith A. and Bill Childress, Chesterfield, Va., Donna Y. and Steve Witt, Salem; five grandchildren, and five stepgrandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday September 1, 1994, at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. R. Stuart Carlton. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
