CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery Museum will sponsor a tour of historic homes including Fotheringay, a Virginia state landmark, on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The tour group will travel in two vans with tour guides. Participants may also bring their own cars. The tour fee is $10.

Landfill to close
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Montgomery County Landfill will be closed Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, to permit construction and installation of new scales.
The landfill will re-open Oct. 10 at 8 a.m.

Babies into Books
RADFORD - The Women's Club of Radford will sponsor a bridge-a-rama to raise money for Babies into Books.
Babies into Books is a club project that provides books and family reading information to each baby born at Radford Community Hospital.
Participants may register for ladies one- or two-table day bridge or ladies or couples evening bridge. The play will begin in October and continue through April.
