"This course is going to help people approach their marriage from the aspect of, 'What does God intend?'" he said. The 26-week course is intended to help couples prepare for "healthy, God-centered marriages that will grow and flourish over an entire lifetime."
Participants will use the Southern Baptist Convention book "I Take Thee to Be My Spouse: Bible Study for Newlyweds." Topics include - but are not limited to - finances, communication, conflict resolution and the roles of husband and wife. "We'll look at all areas of a Christian lifestyle," Batton explained, adding that he expects commitment to the program, which will involve prayer, study, application and social time outside the classroom. "It will be anything but boring," he said.

\ Over 400 pastors and lay delegates are expected to be on hand Monday through Thursday on the campus of L.I.F.E. Bible College East in Christiansburg for the ANNUAL CONVENTION of the Southeast District of the Foursquare Gospel Church. The public is welcome to attend the convention's evening sessions that begin at 7.
District Supervisor Glenn Burris Jr. addresses the opening night gathering. The Rev.
