Junior Lee Glenn, of the 2600 block of Westover Avenue Southwest, had admitted to police that he shot the victim, Taja Crawley. He faces a possible maximum sentence of life for aggravated malicious wounding, breaking and entering with a deadly weapon with the intent to commit a felony, and the use of a firearm in a felony.
Crawley, who had been living with Glenn, was staying at a Roanoke County motel when the shooting occurred in late May.
Glenn knocked on Crawley's door about 3 p.m., said a prosecutor who summarized the evidence. When Crawley would not open the door, he shot out the window. Glenn climbed through the window and shot her in the thigh, arm and eye.
Thursday, Glenn also pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of destruction of property after he smashed a jail window while he was being held in Roanoke County Jail.
