AFFAIR IN THE SQUARE

Roanoke dresses up and celebrates on Saturday to raise funds for Center in the Square, the downtown Roanoke cultural center. This year marks the 11th annual event with music, food, drink, dancing and comedy going on throughout the building. Among the lineup: Curley Ennis and the String Lizards, the William Penn Trio featuring Deborah Liles, Stan Kingma's Virginians, Bill Field, Mickey Nelson, the Roanoke Chamber Singers, Random Acts of Sax, the Thrillbillyz Rhythm & Blues Revue, a short film from the upcoming Virginia Festival of American Film, Plum Sideways, Homebrew, the Frank Spencer Show, the Star Dance Club, Bad Poetry in Motion, Stowe and Lowe and "Afro-fusion," a Space Rave and dancing on the rooftop with After Six.
