GILES UNITED FUND KICKOFF DINNER THURSDAY

The Giles County United Fund will launch its 1994 campaign with a kickoff dinner sponsored by Bell Atlantic and Giles Memorial Hospital Thursday at 6 p.m. in the new Giles Rescue Squad Building.

Morris D. Reece, administrator of Giles Memorial Hospital, will serve as campaign coordinator. "I believe that our goal of $110,000 is realistic and achievable. I call upon each citizen and business to commit to helping in meeting this goal," said Reece.

Reece's executive committee includes Garnet Campbell, president; Carolyn Clowers, secretary; Velma Ezell, treasurer; Paula Reynolds, executive director; and Al Katz, Bob Becker, Buford Williams and Dennis Hamric, directors.

Other volunteers from the New River Valley will serve as division chairmen.

Celco: Melanie Moser, Sherry Hobbs and Loretta Ellison.

Industry: Dennis Hamric.

Professional: Dr. Mark Miller, Lisa Miller, Alan Harvey, Clara O'Brien and Lori Kaufelt.

Commercial: Jerry Smith, Rick Reed and Brian Scheid.

Education: Ron Whetzel.

Community: Becky Moses and Buford Williams.

Government: Ken Vittum

The Giles United donations support 22 human service agencies in the New River Valley. All money raised will be used locally. More than 94 percent of the budget goes directly into community services. The remainder is used for operating costs.
