NARROWS ROLLS OVER SHAWSVILLE

Narrows' Gary Lowery ran into the Shawsville end zone three times for two touchdowns and a two point conversion as the Green Wave wiped out the Shawnees 40-0 on Friday night in non-district football action.

Keith Morris also had two touchdowns - on a 14-yard run and a 38-yard pass from Brian Pruett - in the second quarter.

Shawsville, hampered by Chris Graham's three interceptions, only penetrated the Narrows 14-yard line on its first drive and never got close again. The Shawnees failed on a fourth-and-19 play to end that threat.

Scott Stafford and David Turner each had a touchdown run for the Green Wave.

Beasley's first touchdown came on a 1-yard run as the Pioneers took a 21-0 lead in the second quarter.

Jeremy Akers connected on 12 of 32 passes for 189 yards to lead Auburn (0-6). He threw touchdown passes to Bradley Hudgins and Kenny Wojciechowski

GALAX - The Maroon Tide stuffed the Blue Devils' two-point try with 2 minutes, 35 seconds remaining to preserve a back-and-forth Mountain Empire District victory.

Galax (2-4, 1-3) used an epic 16-play, 95-yard drive to take a 22-15 lead with 10:11 remaining in the fourth quarter. The scoring march consumed 9:07.

Grayson County (2-4, 0-3) came back in the fourth quarter, thanks to a Galax fumble of a punt return. The Tide took over on the Blue Devils' 29-yard line and scored six plays later on a 2-yard run by quarterback Chad Shaffner.

Grayson County elected to go for two points, but Ernie Pritchard was wrapped up by Andy Ashworth and Steve Ford short of the goal line.

The Blue Devils got the ball back with 45 seconds to play and Shaffner hit Mark Osborne for a 24-yard pickup to the Grayson County 45. Shaffner was intercepted by Ford at the 15-yard line on the last play of the game.

The Blue Devils' three district losses have been by a total of eight points.

Appomattox (1-5, 1-5) cut the Golden Eagles' lead to 24-14 on a 76-yard touchdown pass from Daniel Evans to Jason Mann, but could get no closer as Martin scored his final two touchdowns in the second half. Evans completed six of 12 passes for 114 yards for the Raiders.
