Mark Loftis, attorney with Woods, Rogers & Hazlegrove, has been elected president of the Roanoke Festival in the Park board of directors for 1994-95.
President-elect Cathy Caddy, The Bottom Line, treasurer Jim Hinkel, Monticello Life, and secretary Sheri Bernath complete the board's officers.
Executive director Wendi Schultz begins her 10th year with the festival.
Other new board members include: Natalie Rice & Eleanor Deneka, children's activities; Robin Kindsvatter, contributions and special projects; Lee Ann Brooks, evening concerts; Scott Levy, finance; Dan Corey, First Night Roanoke; Jack Pickering, MIS; Barbara Williams, volunteers; and Doug Hyre and Jim Haynes, logistics.
Artist wins award
Artist Joni Pienkowski of Blacksburg won the Peninsula Fine Arts Center's $500 Guild Award for her oil painting, ``Matisse with Long Brush,'' in the center's Juried Exhibition 1994.
The exhibit is on display in Newport News through Nov. 13.
