In other news, veteran NASCAR driver Dick Trickle will replace injured Rodney Combs as driver of the Richard Petty-owned car in the Advance Auto Parts 500.
Combs broke his right shoulder in the All Pro Auto Parts 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway last week and will miss the final two GN races of 1994.

Aaron Kovac shot a 79 as Martinsville won the Piedmont District Golf Tournament at the Water's Edge Country Club at Smith Mountain Lake.
The Bulldogs finished at 329. Tunstall defeated Fieldale-Collinsville in a playoff to finish second at 331.
Martinsville and Tunstall will advance to the Region III tournament. They will be joined by regional qualifiers Chuck Angle and David Tuxhorn of Bassett, Matt Harnsberger of Patrick County, Darrell Purdue and Neil Morris of Fieldale-Collinsville, C.B. Harrison of Dan River and Thomas Meadows and Scott Whitt of Chatham.
Angle, who won a playoff on the fourth hole, was chosen the district's player of the year. Tunstall coach Tom Early was named top coach.

Jon Ervin shot a one-over-par 71 and teammate Will Lovelace added a 73 as George Wythe won the Hogoheegee District golf tournament at Saltville Golf Club.
The Maroons finished at 310, followed by Northwood at 322.
George Wythe and Northwood will advance to the Region C tournament Oct. 18 at Wytheville Golf Club. They will be joined by regional qualifiers Keith Ray and Joseph Puckett of Lebanon, Shannon Donnelly and Joel Donnelly of Chilhowie and Jon Akers and Matt Reedy of Patrick Henry-Glade Spring.
