MAN ACCUSED OF RAPING 17-YEAR-OLD

A 34-year-old Roanoke man was charged with raping his girlfriend's 17-year-old daughter early Saturday.

Elliott Leroy Finney, of the 700 block of Third Street Southwest, was charged with abducting and raping the teen-ager. The man lived with the girl and her mother.

The teen-ager told police Finney accused her of telling others about his drug use, then forced her into the master bedroom and raped her. She said he kept her there from 2:30 to 5:30 a.m.

Finney remains in Roanoke City Jail on the two felony charges.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. today.
