COVINGTON WINS

JoAnn Helton scored 11 of her 19 points in the third quarter as Covington defeated Stuarts Draft 49-39 in a non-district girls high school basketball game on Monday.

Stuarts Draft led 18-12 at halftime, but Covington rallied in the third quarter behind Helton's points and a technical foul called on Covington coach Rob Bennett.

Covington won despite missing 22 foul shots. Covington went 10-for-32 from the free throw line.
