MACROBIOTICS CLASS PLANNED

Macrobiotics - a philosophy of balance, harmony and positive states of being - will be applied to cooking in a class held Oct. 19. Noted instructor Tonia Hugus, long associated with the Kushi Institute and other healing centers, will cover how to use natural foods to help heal and balance your body, how to choose the foods that work best for you and how to cook them in the most nutritious and taste-pleasing ways.

The class will meet from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church kitchen, 2015 Grandin Road, Roanoke. The $22 fee includes tasting and recipes.

On Oct. 29 from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hugus will also present an introduction to macrobiotics ($45, including lunch).

All events are sponsored by the Lifestream Center. To register or for additional information, call 344-3031 or 345-3405.
