TROOPS TAKE OVER NATIONAL PALACE - U.S. SOLDIERS ESCORT OUT LAST OF HAITIAN

U.S. Troops took over the National Palace on Tuesday, helping the goverment of exiled President Jean-Bertrand Aristide clear out the last vestiges of Haiti's military-backed administration.

Hundreds of American soldiers entered the sprawling, white building Tuesday afternoon. An Army captain at the scene said Haitian soldiers were to be escorted out as Aristide's prime minister prepared to take office.
