MARTINSVILLE MAKES PLEA FOR MUSEUM

Dozens of Martinsville-area residents told the governor's strike force on governmental reform Tuesday to save dinosaur fossils, gpysy moth research and other important programs by saving the city's Museum of Natural History.

"This is vital, in my opionion, to the entire commonwealth," said Del. Virgil Goode, D-Rocky Mount, who defended the museum at the Commission on Government Reform's public hearing in Roanoke. "There's more than the 18,000 people who come through the...front door" each year, Goode said.
