The Highlander's Marilea Hale had a season-high 27 points, which took up some of the slack for Toree Morris, a Cougars defensive target. Morris had seven points, four fewer than her average. Amanda Bishop added 11 for Glenvar (12-2 overall, 7-0 in the district).
CO ovington (10-4, 5-2), which has now lost twice to Glenvar, got 14 points from Bessie Laws and 10 from Michelle Jeter.

MONTEREY - Chrissy Robertson scored 14 of her team-high 27 points in the first quarter as the Rockets scorched the Rams in a Pioneer District game.
Highland (1-10, 0-7) got 14 points for Shyla Shumate.

HOT SPRINGS - Crystal Humphries scored 10 of her game-high 14 points in the last eight minutes to extinuish Bath County's hopes a Pioneer District upset.
Parry McCluer (10-4, 6-2) faced a 23-19 deficit heading into the fourth quarter, and even trailed as late as 3:27 to go in the game, but the Chargers (2-13, 1-6) couldn't hit their big shots in the fourth and the Fighting Blues prevailed.
Bath County freshman Katie Hardbarger scored 10 points to lead the Chargers. The 6-foot-1 center also grabbed four rebounds.
Lindsay Coleman scored 11 points to pace Parry McCluer.

ROCKY GAP - Micki Young hit 8 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Blue Devils upset the Eagles in a Mountain Empire District game.
Young scored a team-high 12 points for the Blue Devils. Lindsey Carico added 11.
Rocky Gap (4-10, 2-2) was led by Nancy Tupper, who scored a game-high 27 points - 16 in the second half.

MAX MEADOWS - Jaclyn Dickens scored 11 points to lead four Galax players in double figures as the Maroon Tide remained undefeated in the Mountain Empire District with a victory over the Pioneers.
Galax got 10 points each from Tammy Cox, the second leading scorer in the Timesland, Erin Kyle, and Tiffany Williams.
The Maroon Tide led by as many as 17 in the second half, but the Pioneers (2-11, 1-3) managed to cut that to seven in the fourth quarter. Amy Lyons led the comeback scoring eight of her 12 points in the fourth and Trish Stewart scored seven of her game-high 17.
Jenny Porter added 12 for the Pioneers.

BLAND - The Green Wave bolted to a 24-0 lead after one quarter and cruised to a Mountain Empire District victory over the Rockets.
Suzanne Webb had 15 points and Melissa Lucas added 13 for Narrows.

MARTINSVILLE - The Warriors built a 10-point halftime lead and held off the Lancers to notch a Piedmont District victory.
Taneshia Kellam led Magna Vista (11-4, 8-4) with a game-high 24 points and Felicia Craig added 17.
Laurel Park (3-11, 3-9) got 16 points from Toy Perkins, 15 from Shavika Watkins, 11 f rom Tonya Martin and 10 from Isis Paddyfote.

MARTINSVILLE - Trecita Holland scored a game-high 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and had eight steals to lead Martinsville past Dan River in a Piedmont District romp.
The Bulldogs (12-2, 11-1) got a big game from freshman Mandy Moran, who was just called up from junior varsity. Moran had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Samantha Ferguson added 11 points and seven assists and Jamie Farrington chipped in 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as every player scored for the Bulldogs.
Dan River did not have a player score in double figures and scored just seven points in the second half.

COLLINSVILLE - The Cavaliers outscored Gretna 23-9 in the first quarter and held off the Hawks for a Piedmont District victory.
Cicely Becker led the Cavaliers (8-6, 7-5) with 16 points and Yvonne Hall added 14.
Gretna was led by Charita Dews with 21 points.

WYTHEVILLE - Megan Johnson scored 14 points to lead the Maroons (8-6 overall) to a Hogoheegee District victory over the Cavaliers.
Holston, which trailed 20-11 at halftime, was paced by Ann Newman with nine points.
