TOYS 'R' US PULLS REALISTIC TOY GUNS

Realistic toy guns are being pulled from the shelves by the world's largest toy retailer and others after New York City police shot two children who were playing with convincing look-alikes.

Toys `R' Us will stop selling the toy guns in its U.S. stores but not overseas, Chief Executive Officer Michael Goldstein said Friday.

Kay-Bee Toy Stores, based in Pittsfield, Mass., said it immediately would begin removing and destroying all realistic toy guns from the shelves of its 1,000 stores nationwide.
