William Byrd (3-3) scored 27 consecutive points after Carroll County (1-6) took a 6-0 lead on Kevin Dalton's 8-yard run in the first quarter. The Terriers scored a pair of touchdowns in a span of 10 seconds in the second quarter and added two more touchdowns in the third quarter within seven seconds of each other.
Byrd got on the board when Gerald Pratt picked up a blocked punt and ran it 2 yards into the end zone. On the Cavaliers' next possession, English picked up a fumble and ran 23 yards for a touchdown to make it 13-6.
Barry Myvett scored on an 8-yard run and Michael Berry kicked the extra point to make it 20-6 early in the third quarter. Carroll County fumbled on the first play of its next possession, and David Peters recovered and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown.
Dalton scored on a 12-yard run late in the third quarter to pull Carroll to 27-12. English completed the scoring by intercepting a pass and returning it 28 yards for a touchdown.
Dalton, the Cavaliers' tailback who has also played quarterback and tight end this season, carried 30 times for 141 yards. Carroll County fumbled eight times and lost five.

FORT CHISWELL - Michael White's 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter lifted the Pioneers over the Buffaloes in a non-district game.
White's touchdown came after Floyd County (3-3) had closed to 24-23. Gary Arnold's 6-yard touchdown run clinched it for Fort Chiswell (2-4).
Kevin Beasley led the Pioneers' attack with 170 yards on 23 carries. Jamie Warren had 133 yards rushing on 20 attempts for the Buffaloes.
Jefferson Forest 26
Liberty 21
FOREST - Jamie Forrest scored on a 3-yard run with 57 seconds left to give the Cavaliers a dramatic Seminole District victory over the Minutemen.
Liberty (4-3, 4-3) led 21-20 with less than three minutes to play, but Jefferson Forest's Mike Davis recovered a fumble at the Liberty 45-yard line.
With less than two minutes to go, Forest (5-1, 5-1) faced a fourth-and-eight situation, but was able to complete a 10-yard pass to Chris Hughes for the first down. Troy Daly then rambled 20 yards to the Liberty 5, and Forrest scored two plays later.
Liberty took a 14-6 lead, thanks to two short touchdown runs by quarterback Mike Padgett and a safety.
Jefferson Forest came back behind the strong running of Nick Mistretta, who rushed for 106 yards on 19 carries - including two touchdown runs of 1 and 25 yards - and Troy Daly, who rushed for 78 yards on 10 carries.
The Cavaliers outrushed the Minutemen 241-76 and outgained them 274-237 in total offense.

MONETA - Junior quarterback Sean Lynch completed four of eight passes, including two for touchdowns, as the Devils blanked the Golden Eagles in a Seminole District game.
Lynch finished with 120 yards passing for Rustburg (5-1, 5-1). He found Tyrone Scott with a 24-yard scoring toss and Seth Bigham on a 30-yarder, both in the second quarter.
The Devils capped the scoring in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard touchdown run by Chris Lacks.
Staunton River (2-4, 2-4) was held to 164 yards of total offense.
