KEYDETS CAN'T STOP TENN.-CHATTANOOGA

Stan Sullivan and Terry Wilburn each rushed for two touchdowns as Tennessee- Chattanooga routed VMI 49-14 on Saturday night in a Southern Conference football game.

The Moccasins (2-4, 1-2) opened the scoring on their first possession, a seven-play, 67-yard drive capped by Kenyon Earl's 37-yard pass to Brian Davenport.

On the first play of second quarter, Wilburn scored on a 25-yard run that finished a two-play, 66-yard drive that took only 21 seconds. Wilburn, a tailback, did all the damage with two runs. The drive was set up when UT-C linebacker Anton Goldwire picked off a pass by VMI quarterback Al Lester at the Mocs' 34-yard line.

Wilburn's run completed the first of four consecutive scoring drives for UT-C in the second quarter as the Mocs built a 35-0 lead on Sullivan's 14-yard run with 2 minutes, 8 seconds remaining in the first half. The score was Sullivan's second of the quarter.

VMI (0-6, 0-4) scored with eight seconds to go in the first half on a 1-yard run by Thomas Haskins, his sixth rushing touchdown of the year.

In the second half, the Mocs did not attempt a pass and still scored on their first two possessions. Earl went in on an 11-yard option keeper with 5:02 remaining in third quarter. Brian Covington added a score on a 12-yard run with 12:49 left in the game.

VMI capped the scoring when Lester threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to tight end Greg Harris with 27 seconds remaining.
