ANDERSON, Jesse B., 75, of 510 Scuffling Hill Rd., Rocky Mount, died Sunday, October 16, 1994, in a Roanoke hospital. He was a son of the late Monroe and Kate Anderson and was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Evans and a brother, William Anderson. He retired from Cooper Wood Products. Mr. Anderson was a loving husband to his wife, Mamie B. Anderson, of the home and was a loving father to his children, Frances and Vern Bigney, Chesapeake, Gail and Robert Hutcherson, Rocky Mount, Lisa and Randy Whorley, Ferrum, J. B. and Jean Anderson, Rocky Mount, Carl and Carol Anderson, Rocky Mount. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren; 16 grea t-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Anderson, Lillian and Bob Parcell, all of Rocky Mount; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Tillie and Violet Anderson, Rocky Mount, Roy and Ernestine Anderson, Bassett, Brady and Buna Anderson, Floyd and Sandi Anderson, all of Rocky Mount; several nieces, nephews, and very special friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Billy Shively officiating. Interment will follow in the Anderson Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main St., Rocky Mount.

CURTISS, James R., ``Jim"", 88, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, October 15, 1994, in Lewis Gale Hospital. Born in Allentown, Pa., he served and retired as a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Meador Curtiss; and her family, James A. Meador, Mildred A. Meador, Lucille M. Davis and Glady s M. Hoover, all of Moneta, Smyth and Carol Meador of Salem, H. Lyle Meador of New Orleans, La.; many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. Friends may call on Monday, October 17, 1994, at the John M. Oakey and Son Chapel in Salem from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 1994, at the Morgans Baptist Church in Moneta with Pastor Harold Uhl officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

HILL, Randall A., ``Randy"", 28, of Troutville, died Saturday, October 15, 1994. He was a 1984 graduate of Northside High School and a graduate of the Virginia Tech School of Forestry. Randy was a member and worked with the young adults of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. He was a helicopter pilot for Ranger Helicopter Services. Surviving are his wife, Lila Wright Hill; parents, Jerry D. and Gladys B. Hill, Buchanan; grandparents, Carey G. Brillhart, Roanoke, the Rev. James Paul Hill and wife, Agnes, Hollins; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jenny and Paul Arrington, Boones Mill, Robin L. Hill, Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Darren P. and Elizabeth Leffel Hill, Berryville, Va.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas C. and Annie B. Wright, Newport; a number of nieces and nephews. In lie u of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 402 Hershberger Road, Roanoke, Va. 24012. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Aaron J. Rummage. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. HOUSER, Elizabeth Colmore (Norcross), 63, of 1609 N. Augusta Street, Staunton, died Sunday, October 16, 1994, at her residence. She is the wife of H. Ray Houser. Funeral service for Mrs. Houser will be conducted Tuesday, October 18, 1994, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's United Providence A.R.P. Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Henry Funeral Home, Staunton.

JENNINGS, Edna Padgett, 74, of Salem, passed away Saturday, October 15, 1994. She was a member of the Williamson Road # 119 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by nieces, Erlene Padgett, Fla., Krista Slagle, Richmond, Marolyn Carter, Roanoke, Barbara Crawford, Roanoke, Emma Lee Bowles, Montana; nephews, Barry W. Padgett, Ala., Peter Jennings, Atlanta; sister-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Jennings. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Lotz Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with the Rev. Billy White officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad. LYNSKEY, James E., (Jim), 75, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, October 16, 1994. Mr. Lynskey served in the U. S. Marines during World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angelia Gail Lynskey in 1990 and his wife, Hazel Huffman Lynskey in April 1994. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. II and Claudia Lynskey, Hampton, Douglas A. and Connie Lynskey, Roanoke; a daughter, Sharon M. Dunahoo, Roanoke; nine gran dchildren; two great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 1994 with the Rev. Charles R. Doyle officiating. Interment with military honors by V.F.W. Post 1264 will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. The family will receive friends at Lotz Roanoke Chapel 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday

MANSON, Douglas John, 64, of Floyd, passed away Saturday, October 15, 1994, at the V. A. Medical Center in Salem. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Mitchell Manson, Floyd; one son, Harold Manson, Floyd; two step sons, Phillip Burton, Robert Burton, both of Miama, Fla.; one sister, Sally Mancini, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; one half-sister, Marsha Bryan, Miami, Fla.; mother-in-law, Larmie Mitchell, Floyd. Graveside memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Thomas Cemetery with Mr. Fred Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Larmie Mitchell. Maberry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Russell Hansford, 76, of Salem, died Saturday, October 15, 1994. He was retired from General Electric Company in Salem. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Kathryn Miller. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah M. and Roy Muth, Virginia Beach, Ann Russell and Walter Champion, Hollywood, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Marshall and Mildred Miller, Roanoke; one sister, Louise M. Posey, Fairfax; one granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Muth. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 1994, 12:00 noon at the College Lutheran Church in Salem, with the Rev. OLIVER, Terry Nelson, 58, of Vinton, died Sunday, October 16, 1994 in a local hospital. He was an employee of Halmode Apparel, Inc. Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Oliver; daughter and son-in-law, Angela D. and Bob E. Gilley, Vinton; mother, Pauline D. Oliver, Vinton; two grandchildren, Nelson Pendleton and his wife Torie, and Kimberly Pendleton, Vinton; five brothers, Richard, Glenroy, Steve, Stanley and Paul Oliver; one sister, Jackie Pendleton. Funeral services will be at the graveside 12 noon Tuesday, October 18, 1994, at Mountain View Cemetery with the Rev. Charles R. Doyle officiating. WILLIAMS, Melvin A., ``Frog"", 68, of Salem, died Sunday, October 16, 1994 at Community Hospital. He had been employed by the City of Salem for several years. He was also an Army veteran. He is survived by his brothers, James M. (Pete) Williams, Jerry W. Williams, Berkley M. Williams, and Billy R. Williams, all of Salem; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 1994, at 2 p.m. at Hoages Chapel Cemetery, Pembroke. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, October 17, 1994 at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem.
