Parent-teacher days

Parent-teacher conferences will be held at Eastern, Macy McClaugherty and Narrows elementary schools Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m.-noon and 2:30-6:30 p.m. Conferences also will be held at the Technology Center during these hours. Store needs help

PULASKI - The 1994 Christmas Store seeks volunteers and donations of new and used toys and filled Christmas stockings. The store is sponsored by the Pulaski County Office on Youth, New River Community Action and The New River Bikers. Donations may be dropped off at the Old Jefferson School Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Call Joyce Quesenberry at 980-7797.

Comedy at Tech

BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech Union Special Events Committee will present the comedy of Ed Marques and Willie Barcena on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Squires Colonial Hall. Tickets will be on sale at the door beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $1 with Virginia Tech student identification, $2 for non-students. Call 231-5615.

Radford AARP

RADFORD - The Radford Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons will hold a potluck dinner at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Radford Senior Center.

The guest speaker is state senator Madison Marye, D-Shawsville, who will address issues facing senior citizens.
