SALEM FALLS 72-50 TO LEE-STAUNTON

The Corbin twins, Beth and Jenny, combined to score 34 points and help Robert E. Lee-Staunton run to a 72-50 victory over Salem in a non-district game Monday night.

Jenny Corbin led R.E. Lee-Staunton (15-0) with a game-high 18 point and 12 rebounds. Beth Corbin added 16 points - including three 3-pointers. Kelly Simmons chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds.

The Spartans were victimized by cold shooting throughout the game. Salem missed its first seven shots as R.E. Lee-Staunton took a 9-0 lead. The Spartans missed 17 of 20 shots in scoring six points in the quarter.

R.E. Lee-Staunton went on a 9-0 run to start the second half and take a 42-19 lead, putting away the Spartans.

Salem was led by Shellie Johnson, who scored 14 points. Sarah Palmer added 10.

NEW CASTLE - Chrissy Robertson had 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half as the Rockets won a Pioneer District game.

Craig County (6-7) led 22-13 at halftime and kept the Chargers at bay in the second half. Bonnie Boardwine and Laura Nelson combined for 21 points for the winners.

Bath County (2-13) got 15 points from Katie Hardbarger and 12 from Melanie Woods.

Graham 52

Christiansburg 36

BLUEFIELD - Pooh Webb scored a game-high 25 points, had three assists and three steals to lead Graham past Christiansburg.

Graham (5-10) used a full-court press to jump out to a 24-6 halftime lead and never looked back. Kristi Maupin added 10 points and nine rebounds for Graham.

Christiansburg was led by Maureen Jackson with 15 points.
