SLOVAKS PLAY ROANOKE

The Slovak Symphony Orchestra will perform Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. in the Roanoke Civic Center Auditorium.

The orchestra is on its first American tour. The Roanoke performance, led by guest conductor Dennis Burkh, will include the Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104, by Dvorak, and Symphony No. 4 in D minor, Op. 120, by Schumann. Jiri Hanousek will be the guest soloist in the Dvorak concerto.

Tickets are $15 and $12 and are available at the box office. WVTF, the event's sponsor, will donate $5 from each ticket purchased to the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. For more information, call 857-8900.
