You can remove your name from mailing lists of companies that subscribe to the Mail Preference Service of the Direct Marketing Association. Write to: Mail Preference Service, Direct Marketing Association, P.O. Box 9008, Farmingdale, N.Y. 11735-9008. Send your name and address - and don't forget your Zip Code. Consider, too, asking your favorite catalog not to include your name on the mailing lists it rents to other companies.
