NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

JIM PUGH of Christiansburg is the new manager of the reorganized United Cities Gas property division that includes the company's Wytheville, Pulaski, Radford and Blacksburg operations. TED CREGER of Wytheville is the division's assistant manager.

The two will oversee the day-to-day operation, construction, sales and service functions of the four offices.

The Virginia Health Care Association re-elected chairwoman DEBORAH PETRINE, chief operating officer for HCMF Corporation in Blacksburg, at its annual business meeting in Virginia Beach.

The group also elected NANCY WATERS, an administrator at Heritage Hall in Blacksburg, to serve as chairwoman of the association's western district.

Wheat First Butcher Singer announced the appointment of DANNY W. SPECHT as a financial consultant in the firm's Blacksburg office. Specht, a Virginia Tech graduate, previously worked for Marriott Management Services.

W. JON BRABBAN is the new quality assurance specialist for the Administrative Contracting Officer staff at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

IN MEDICINE

Drs. LINDA FRASCA and DOMINIC FRASCA, a husband-and-wife physician team, joined the emergency department staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital. The couple, previously partners in Corning Emergency Physicians Association, came to the New River Valley from Oswego, N.Y.

DR. PHILIP E. GRUBBS, a reconstructive and plastic surgeon, is now receiving patients at the Plastic Surgery Center of Virginia in Blacksburg. His medical interests are hand surgery, cosmetic surgery and the treatment of deformities caused by trauma, birth defects and cancer.

DR. DAVID T. MACMILLAN is a new member of the general surgery practice of Dr. David Stoeckle in Montgomery Regional Medical Park. MacMillan was previously a staff surgeon at McAlester Regional Hospital in McAlester, Okla.

DR. PAUL A. MARQUETTE of Pulaski Community Hospital is newly board certified in family medicine from the American Board of Family Physicians.

DR. JEFFREY F. PATTON, a hematologist-oncologist at the Lewis Gale Clinic in Salem, is currently providing medical oncology services at Pulaski Community Hospital on Wednesdays.

DR. REED LAMBERT, a family practitioner, and DR. DAVID ROBERTS, an obstetrician-gynecologist, have joined the staff of Radford Community Hospital. Lambert completed his residency at Womack Army Hospital in Fort Bragg, N.C. Roberts comes to Radford after finishing his residency at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y.

Century 21 Old Virginia Ltd. recently named BRENDA UNDERWOOD of the Dublin office and BOB SIMMONS of the Blacksburg office recipients of the Sales Achievement Gold Award.

MICHAEL CLUVER will serve Southwest Virginia as the DoAll Virginia Company's sales and marketing representative.

KATHLEEN GRUBB recently retired from Litton Poly-Scientific after 25 years of service. DOROTHY "DOT" SIMPKINS also retired from the Blacksburg company after 16 years of service.

GERALD G. FAIN, a certified financial planner at the Blacksburg office of IDS Financial Services, completed training in charitable gift planning from Renaissance Inc. in Carmel, Ind.
