The Roanoke Rugby Club will host the 1994 Virginia State Rugby Championship Tournament, the Ed and Sandy Lee Cup, Oct. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Finals will begin at noon. The games will be played at Green Hill Park in Roanoke County.
Approximately 24 clubs and collegiate teams, both male and female, from across Virginia will compete in the two-day event.
Admission to the tournament, which is co-sponsored by the Roanoke County Parks and Recreation Department, is free.

YMCA needs youth basketball coaches
The athletic department of the YMCA Family Center Branch is recruiting volunteers to coach youth male and female basketball during the 1994-95 season.
Those interested should call Millard Bolden, program director, at 344-9622 by Oct. 31.
The center will also conduct basketball sign-ups for youth ages 6-18. Sign-ups will be held Saturdays beginning Oct. 22 through Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Salem golf tourney winners named
The Salem Rescue Squad has announced winners from the First Responder Captain's Choice Golf Tournament at Hanging Rock Golf Course.
They are: Bill Trent, Doug Kenney, Fred Duncan and Tim Chewning, first place team, 16 under par; Frank Turk, Larry Wheeling, Denton Willard and Joe Yates, second place team, 12 under par; and Brad Gibbs, Dennis Hiner, Donna Pritt and Randy Smith, third place team, 10 under par.
The tournament was sponsored by Lewis-Gale Hospital and the city of Salem.
