MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING SESSIONS

A training session for mental health professionals and families who want to develop workshops in their own communities will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Saint Albans Psychiatric Hospital.

The seminar will teach the Mutual Education, Support and Advocacy model of education. It is being sponsored by the Virginia Alliance for the Mentally Ill and ``MESA Family Workshops Manual'' authors Thomasine Cubine and Phyllis T. McCafferty, both licensed clinical social workers.

It will feature Virginia Commonwealth University professor Kia J. Bentley and June Poe, a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Roanoke.

The deadline for registration is Monday and there is a fee.
