CorVel Corp., Irvine, Calif., provider of medical cost containment and managed care services with operations in Roanoke, reported net income of $1.4 million, or 31 cents per share, for its second quarter ended Sept. 30. That compares with income of $1 million, or 24 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenues were $22.9 million compared with $19.4 million. For the first six months, net income was $2.7 million, or 61 cents a share, on revenues of $45 million, compared with $1.9 million, or 46 cents per share, on revenue of $38.2 million.
Corning
Corning Inc., Corning, N.Y., parent of a Christiansburg plant making ceramic parts for catalytic converters, reported net income of $76.9 million, or 36 cents per share, on revenues of $1.44 billion in its third quarter ended Oct. 9. That compares to a year-earlier net loss of $33.9 million, equal to 18 cents per share, on revenue of $1.20 billion. For the first nine months, net income was $246.3 million, or $1.18 per share, on revenue of $3.5 billion, compared to net income of $105.7 million, or 55 cents per share, on revenue of $2.92 billion.
