Clarifications
Ninth District Congressional candidate Steve Fast said Friday he doesn't oppose efforts to lure businesses to industrial parks via publicly funded shell buildings, roads and sewage systems. The Republican said his remarks at a Thursday press conference were misinterpreted. During the presentation, Fast suggested that the use of tax money to create jobs could crowd out and inhibit private investment. But he said Friday he believes there is a role for the government in building roads and other parts of the economic infrastructure.
\ Thomas Leggette, a candidate for the Roanoke County School Board in the Windsor Hills district, said he believes that the inclusion of children with mental and physical disabilities in regular classes works in some cases, but Leggette said he does not favor inclusion in all cases. He said his comments in a story Friday have been misinterpreted by some county residents.
